RE: Is it true about KFC?
We're just as bad around this part of the UK for throwing litter around. Just go and look at Preston Docks in front of McDonalds where people park facing the dock after going through the drive through. I think a dredge of the dock would bring up tons of old food cartons, although McDonalds go to great lengths to try and prevent people discarding their rubbish in this way.

The other thing I can't stand is people who empty their car ashtrays out of the car door onto the road or car park. They just leave a heap of fag ends and I wonder who they think will clean the mess up?

RE: Is it true about KFC?
I remember vividly Preston Docks when they opened the Manxman (ex Isle of Man Ferry) as a disco in the late 80's and had the Mayor of Preston open it. There was supposed to be a metal staircase built and installed to allow revellers easy access to the ship. The staircase hadn't arrived and as it was opening day, someone made the decision to rig up a gangplank arrangement. The Mayor duly fell in between the Manxman and the Dock wall and when they fished him out he was covered in sodden rubbish and accumulated oil and instantly on the front page of the LEP. Not a good career move for somebody.
