A good looking set of fixtures. It`s good to see there has been no repeat of the crazy trip to Swansea or Plymouth on a Tuesday night.

Unfortunately it looks like Alan Irvine is off to West Brom, subject to compensation being agreed. That's what happens when a smaller club has any modicum of success.. they lose either their manager or their best players to a bigger club.

Steve Bruce left for Sunderland. They've got Swansea's ex manager now. Wigan could have probably attracted Irvine if they'd wanted, that's the way things are at the moment.

Noel we didn't want Irvine as he is a hoof it up front tactician like Jewell was ! At least Martinez had Swansea playing some nice football ! Lets see what happens as nothing is for sure in football as we all know !

Martinez's side played some great stuff at Swansea. The jury's still out as far as I'm concerned about Irvine. He promised us passing attractive football when he first came, we've had a few games where we had that but also quite a bit of long ball stuff which the Deepdale crowd won't tolerate.
Maybe he's not had the right players in, if he stays which I seriously doubt now, the style of play will have to be consistently more attractive.

Apparently he's turned WBA down, which is a relief. Di Matteo is expected to be offered the job now.
