Thanks for the tip Martin. I need to open up the case for it's regular dust removal, so I'll check the USB conncetions. There are 4 on the back of the box, of which only one is working, and one on the front which is dead.

I may swap the printer cable around, but I also couldn't get my external hard drive to work, and that's mains powered.

I think I finally figured out the photo-sizing thing, so here are the two photos I mentioned in my opening post



This one looks downstream from our campsite towards the dam.

This one is about 90 degrees to the left of the first one, looking directly across the river.
