Changing your password
Once you have logged in with your temporary password, you should change it.

You can change your password at any time by following these steps.

Click on User CP at the top of the screen

Look for the menu called Your Profile on the left of the screen

Click on Change Password

When you have entered your new password, click on Update password

RE: Changing your password
Thanks for the second email with a "tested" password. As you can see, it worked. I don't know what happened. I did a big clean-up a couple of days ago and I think the Norton program eleiminated all the cookies. Why I couldn't log back in with my original password, I don't understand, unless a security gate in your i/d system prevents re-use of an expired p/w.

It's a mystery why the machine-generated temporary one failed (unless it has a time stamp and only allows a certain length of time for it to be used). With the 8-hour time difference, I might trip over that one occasionally. After the change-over to the present forum design, I used the "get a new password" feature several times and they all failed.

Ony road up, I'm glad it's sorted. I'm also glad to see that my join date and posting history made it across. Thanks again,

Frank

RE: Changing your password
I'm wondering if the timezones are affecting password resets.

RE: Changing your password
If it is, Martin, that may explain why so many overseas members dropped off the screen. It's only because I find the forum so interesting, as an ex-Leylander with a fairly prominent family. that I persevered to the point of becoming a Royal PITA!

I appreciate what you and the other admin guys do on a regular basis. As the Scots say "Lang may your lum reek."

RE: Changing your password
I believe Sandra is having trouble with password remembering Martin, she's apparently sent you a message but had no response yet.
