South Australian Masters Soccer League

In amateur soccer it is inevitable that some teams are going to be shorthanded at some time. When I was running a team, I ran a very tight ship. I always made sure every player knew the location, and the kick off time of the next game. I had a rule that usually got the guys to the field early...the first eleven at the field was the starting lineup. Another rule I used was that if a player couldn't make the game, he had to phone me in advance, or he was dropped for the next game !! Our league, unlike most British leagues, allows subs to go in and out of the game, ie: if you are subbed, you can go back in at any time...it's to give everybody a chance to play...a player recieving a caution (yellow card), has to leave the field for 10 minutes, but a sub can be brought on to replace him. It's a cooling down period...it works...FIFA should apply it.
