I would love to know what has happened this year. It's so unusual. I do hope it isn't pesticides.

I was reading an article in the LEP today, it said that the health of the butterflies reflects the health of the coutryside. Levels are in decline we can be part of a survey to assess levels, but from my count it's grim http://www.bigbutterflycount.org/

Ridiculous, Bedleias don't spread. i trim mine right down when it's dormant and it soon shoots back up to 7 or 8 feet tall, but spread my ( cough) as Jim Royle would say.

Yes I chop ours right down after flowering. I suppose if you didn't it might well run away with you.
