John Peel
The news of John's death in Peru of a heart attack yesterday came as a shock.
We thought he'd go on forever!
He meant a lot to us as his programmes made us feel less isolated. And we know this is true for people everywhere.
His contribution to music through his acceptance of new sounds and encouragement of fledgling groups is immesurable and irreplacable.
He'll be sadly missed!
We went to the beach and wrote an 'Adieu' in the sand this morning.

Caroline and Big Al.

I felt very much like that when John Lennon was murdered.

He was entertaining to listen to and the music was a bonus.

I used to enjoy his Home Truths programme on Radio 4. It's sad to know he's no longer with us.
