Looks like it's seen happier days. I didn't know they'd made tractors.

They started off making a steam lawn mower for Rugby school as I remember from my uncles book The Story Of Leyland by Norman Rogers.

I wondered where I left that tractor - must have been a big night at the pub

Leyland inherited tractor production from Nuffield/BMC at the time of the merger and production moved from Washwood Heath Birmingham to Bathgate. They produced a range of tractors, initially in blue but changed to yellow/gold later on. Some were four wheel drive but were regarded as underpowered. The power unit was the 98 series engine - the same one that was fitted in Terrier trucks, again produced at Bathgate.
I visited Bathgate many times and went to Moss Side Farm where technical training was carried out for dealer staff. Eventually, that training was moved to Beechfield House in Leyland and the two technical trainers relocated with it. Leyland Tractor sales by then (in the 80's) were based in Preston.

A further bit of information on Leyland Tractors - Leyland sold the business to Marshall Tractors Ltd of Gainsborough in 1982. I don't know how long it lasted after that.
