The Lost World of Mitchell & Kenyon
BBC2 8.30 Tonight.
For those who've not seen it before, tune in.
Previously unseen footage of old Lancashire life. (until it was shown a few months ago).
Excellent stuff.

yes it was very good and fascinating to think anyone of our grandparents or great grandparents could have been on the film and we will never know. Could tonyl please contact Peter at Leyland Historical society (if you sent him a photo of Leyland )as he has something for you.

Thanks Tony, I missed it last time. I only managed to see the last 20 minutes as I was busy dog walking . but what fantastic footage, and the silly things they got up to, not the stuffy sort of things we were lead to believe about live in the early 20th century. I couldn't get over how big the crowds were in Blackpool.

Yes, saw it last time, but it's well worth watching again. I always look out for fleeting shots of my grandparents on these type of things (so far without success),as I have photos of them when they were young and like to think I'd recognise them. It would make my day!quote:

Does anyone know if there's a DVD (all-region coded)? I'd like to see it.

Hi all

The tv series is now out on DVD, there is also another DVD of films not shown on tv.
Care of the person who found the films, ie Peter Worden, we saw some of the films at the Leyland Historical Society nearly five years ago.

Peter Houghton
Leyland Historical Society

RE: The Lost World of Mitchell & Kenyon
Just watched on UTube the six sessions of Episode 1, and 1 of 4, Episode 2 (Man United!). Anyone know if Leyland featured in the later episodes?
