Accident appeal
South Ribble Police

51 mins ยท

We are appealing for witnesses of a road traffic collision to come forward with any information they might have after the car involved failed to stop at the scene.

Around 10:00 AM on Wednesday 11th May 2016, a Peugeot Scooter was being ridden by a woman along Towngate and turned right on the roundabout towards Hough Lane. A white Vauxhall car being driven by a man along School Lane turned left on the roundabout towards Hough Lane colliding with the scooter, resulting in the rider being knocked off.

The driver of the Vauxhall stopped momentarily to shout abuse at the rider before driving off without leaving any details. The rider of the scooter has been left with a shoulder injury and muscle damage around her ribs.

In particular, we would like to hear from two pedestrians who stopped to come to the aid of the rider but didn't leave their details.

Were you the driver, one of the pedestrians, a witness, or perhaps a friend or relative of someone who owns a white Vauxhall car that's recently received front-end damage, or black paint scratched into the front bumper? PC 5092 Davies would like to hear from you. Please ring 101 quoting log number LC-20160513-1200 with any information.
