As one who had English language shoved down my throat at Balshaw's back in the sixties and late fifties I'm astounded at how many people don't know when to use the different versions of words such as there their and they're. Where were and we're. Have and of though they sound completely different to me, I could of, would of , should of, I feel like screaming at times IT'S HAVE YOU TOTAL NINCOMPOOP. But tactfully refrain, but I never respond in a forum. The apostrophe is another scource of irritation. When I was in Crete last, Burger's were adverised, now you can forgive foreigners for making the error but travelling down Brownedge Road towards Todd Lane and you pass a sign saying "Bacon Butty's". Well I rest my case.
